About The Position

Pivot Onsite Innovations is seeking an experienced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for a PRN position to provide healthcare support at an onsite healthcare clinic at a client's distribution center in Cleveland, OH. This role requires coverage for 2nd and 3rd shifts throughout the week, as well as 7 AM-7 PM and 7 PM-7 AM on Saturdays and Sundays.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced EMT.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Must meet credentials in the state of employment in accordance with state requirements and applicable regulations.
  • 3 years of job-related experience.
  • 911 experience required.
  • Demonstrated medical knowledge, techniques, and information needed to treat injuries.
  • Demonstrated ability to administer first aid/emergency care.
  • Demonstrated ability to speak effectively and convey information to supervisors, peers, and customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to use judgment and perform critical thinking.
  • Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry into various systems/applications.
  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to deal with people tactfully and professionally.
  • Ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies.
  • Ability to work independently and perform well under pressure and make quick decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol Certification, and Hair and Oral Fluids Collection certifications.
  • OSHA safety certifications or experience.
  • ARC/CPR Instructor.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing (training provided).
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and performing ancillary testing such as vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, pulmonary function tests, audiogram testing, and respirator fit testing.
  • Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.) (training provided).
  • Determine the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish first aid procedures or the need for additional assistance, using patient statements, examination, and knowledge of emergency medical practice.
  • Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by the treating clinician and triage emergent patients.
  • Assist clients with case management of injuries and follow-up care.
  • Dispense medications and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) as ordered by the treating clinician, in accordance with state regulations and standing orders.
  • Administer prescribed first-aid treatment, potentially including application of splints, administration of oxygen or intravenous injections, treatment of minor wounds or abrasions, or administration of artificial resuscitation.
  • Communicate with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facilities to obtain instructions and arrange for patient reception.
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment, medical devices, and testing processes.
  • Maintain supplies, clean equipment, and the onsite clinic.
  • Complete applicable training, including monthly clinical competency training.
  • Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping.
  • Notify supervisor immediately of equipment malfunctions, supply needs, or facility issues.
  • Inform patients of expected wait times.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
  • Attend client safety team meetings or huddles as required.
  • Assist client with wellness activities.
  • Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility.
