About The Position

Successful applicants will be working in the brief and social detox program. The brief program is a 24 bed unit which provides a safe place to stay for a short period of time. It allows time to rest and recover from the effects of intoxication or drug abuse. The social detox area has 25 beds and clients can stay up to 14 days in order to withdraw from substances and begin to learn about recovery.

Requirements

• Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP)
• Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
• Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations
• Ability to de-escalate, assess, and engage with MHAS clients
• Knowledge of medication management
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Advanced - Technical skills
• Advanced - High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and colleagues

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Mental Health & Addictions
