About The Position
CorrectHealth is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join their growing team in Houma, LA. This is a full-time night position with 12-hour shifts from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. CorrectHealth is a multi-disciplinary medical organization that provides high-quality, cost-effective, comprehensive healthcare inside correctional facilities. Founded by ER professionals, CorrectHealth has established a unique approach to correctional healthcare and currently serves over 40 correctional facilities in Georgia and Louisiana.
Requirements
- EMT Current certification to practice as a EMT in the state of employment.
- American Heart Association BLS.
- American Heart Association ACLS.
- Knowledge and ability to perform emergency care within scope of practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing health care to inmates.
- Assist in performing intake physical examinations to all newly incarcerated inmates.
- Assist in the passing of medications to inmates.
- Assist in responding to medical emergencies.
- Advise appropriate personnel on any inmates that need to be classified as a medical risk.
- Comply with Medical Department directives pertaining to bloodborne and airborne pathogens and the disposal of contaminated materials and supplies.
- Practice proper medical record keeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
