About The Position

Assists in providing direct, and in-direct patient care under direction of appropriate personnel or leadership (e.g. registered nurses and providers). Provides individualized care plan for patient presentation. Acts as a clinical resource for students, those being oriented and volunteers. This position is represented by UFCW.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification: Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Valid Driver’s License (DL) and must be at least 21 years of age or older: Required in CA
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Emergency Medical Tech (NEMT): Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required
• Certified Ambulance Driver (CAD): Required
• California DMV Medical Examiner (DMVME): Required

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized care plan for patient presentation within the EMT scope of practice.
• Collects, records and communicates basic patient data, current and changing status as needed.
• Cleans, inspects, assembles and sterilizes trays and equipment in accordance with established departmental procedures.
• Takes immediate and appropriate action upon occurrence of emergency situation within job description and policies.
• Participates in continuing/advanced education which demonstrates employee commitment to improving capabilities.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
