Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic
About The Position
The EMT-ACP will respond to calls for service as per dispatch instructions, providing assessment, treatment and transportation of ill or injured persons. The EMT-ACP will cover standby assignment, as operations require. Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. Requirements
- Advanced Care Paramedic Diploma (ACP)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS)
- Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic/Advanced Care Paramedic (EMT-P/ACP)
- Valid Class 4 driver's license
- Health Care Provider Level C Certificate (HCP-C)
- Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) certificate acceptable
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)
- Basic Communication skills
- Basic Interpersonal skills
- Knowledge in diverse cultures, values and traditions
- Clean Driver's Abstract
- Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
- Respond to calls for service as per dispatch instructions.
- Provide assessment, treatment, and transportation of ill or injured persons.
- Cover standby assignments, as operations require.
- Respond to the ambulance within 10 minutes when on-call.
