About The Position

Armor Health is hiring an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic to work at Dekalb County Jail in Decatur, Georgia. The role serves as an emergency responder and provides wound care and intake/pre-booking screenings. The schedule is a 12-hour day shift, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., on a rotating three-days-on, four-days-off schedule, including every other weekend. Requirements

State licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic.
Two years of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician.

Responsibilities

Perform initial assessment and management of illness or injury for patients entering a correctional facility, following specified protocols and procedures.
Provide direct paramedical and comprehensive patient care as required by each individual case.
Follow departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, as well as continuous quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Administer emergency medical care, including life support procedures, decontamination protocols, fluid and drug administration, obtaining EKG readings, and monitoring vital statistics.
Respond to emergencies and provide wound care and intake/pre-booking screenings.
