About The Position

The EMT-P will respond to calls for service as per dispatch instructions, providing assessment, treatment and transportation of ill or injured persons. The EMT-P will cover standby assignment, as operations require. Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. Requirements

  • Advanced Care Paramedic Diploma (ACP)
  • Valid Class 4 driver's license
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS)
  • Health Care Provider Level C Certificate (HCP-C)
  • International Trauma Life Support Advanced Certificate (ITLS)
  • Pre-Hospital Care Program - Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) Level
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
  • Basic - Interpersonal skills
  • Basic - Communication skills
  • Ability to work and communicate in a cross cultural setting
  • Ability to establish working relationships with clients during times of distress
  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP)
  • Clean Driver's Abstract
  • Must be Available a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours per 3 week period
  • Must be available all shifts, short shifts, short notice calls, stats and holidays, where applicable
