About The Position

UP Health System - Marquette is seeking a part-time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join their EMS team. This role involves providing emergency medical care within the scope of practice, from the scene to the receiving medical facility. The EMT will be responsible for stabilizing patients, administering care, and maintaining equipment and supplies. The position offers varied 12-hour shifts and is part of a collaborative, team-driven environment focused on high-quality, compassionate care.

Requirements

• Successfully completed MDHHS approved EMT course
• Valid Michigan driver’s license
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS)
• Trauma Course (ITLS or PHTLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
• Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), VFIS Driver Training, or equivalent
• 6 months field experience in EMS

Responsibilities

• Safely navigates ambulance to patient's location.
• Provides stabilization of scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources.
• Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical facility.
• Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives from supervising Physician or Registered Nurse.
• Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulances as necessary.
