About The Position

Geisinger EMTs now have NEW starting rates and are offering a $5,000 bonus to those who qualify. This role involves examining and evaluating patients to determine necessary care, providing emergency care using appropriate techniques and equipment, and offering basic life support while gathering patient data. Responsibilities also include documenting patient information, condition, and treatment, maintaining patient confidentiality, and performing all care with respect for patient rights. The EMT will transport patients according to policies, maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment, and operate/drive an ambulance in compliance with safety policies and laws. The work is typically performed in a clinical environment. The position is accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with organization policies and procedures. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Certified Emergency Medical Technician - State of Pennsylvania
  • Emergency Medical Services Vehicle Operator
  • Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care.
  • Provide patients with emergency care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Provide basic life support and gather patient data.
  • Document patient information, condition, and treatment.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights.
  • Transport patients in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
  • Operate and drive ambulance in conjunction with applicable safety policies and laws.
  • Satisfy all job specific obligations and comply with all organization policies and procedures.
