About The Position

Assists in providing basic emergency medical care during medical emergencies. Operates under the current scope of practice for emergency medical care technicians. Administers, monitors, and assists patients with the self-administration of medications through their administrative medical directors delegated authority. Gathers patient vital signs, obtains specimens, performs ordered treatments, and applies dressings. Recognizes and documents the signs and symptoms of medical needs warranting additional professional expertise and notifies the appropriate medical staff of changes in patient's condition, reaction to medications and/or treatments, and other significant incidents.

Requirements

• Diploma/transcripts to support graduation from an EMT program as required by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS).
• Current, valid, unrestricted certification as an Emergency Medical Care Technician (EMCT) issued by the Arizona Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
• Current, completed PSV from ADHS.
• Current, completed fit testing for N95 particulate respirators.
• Current, completed First Aid Certification.
• Minimum two years of past work experience in this position.
