About The Position

Working under the direction of a paramedic, senior paramedic, critical care paramedic or alone assumes the responsibility for assessing, stabilizing and transporting sick and injured patients. The EMT will administer appropriate patient care within current SCDHEC EMS regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as EMT-B, EMT-I or Advanced EMT in South Carolina or National Registry required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider.
• Ability to communicate in a clear and understandable manner.
• Possess a valid, current South Carolina driver's license.
• Must be insurable under the Roper St. Francis Healthcare vehicle insurance plan, which will be verified by reviewing licensure and driving record.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months experience as an EMT preferred.
• Instructor in BLS and/or BTLS preferred.
• Projects themselves in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, stabilizing and transporting sick and injured patients.

• Operating a vehicle for Roper St. Francis Healthcare business.
