The Emergency Medical Tech (EMT) is responsible for providing pre-hospital care to patients suffering from illness or injury, under the supervision of an EMS Supervisor/manager or EMS Director. This role involves directing patient care at the basic life support level, catering to patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The EMT is expected to adopt a patient-centered approach to care, demonstrating cooperation, flexibility, and resourcefulness when interacting with patients, visitors, physicians, and other healthcare providers. Additionally, the EMT assists in planning, supervising, and evaluating pre-hospital patient care, and coordinates emergency medical care and transportation.
