About The Position

Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for their Emergency Department in Wichita, KS. This is a full-time position with day or night shifts available. Associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through an academic partnership with Wichita State University. Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) required.
• High School Diploma equivalency required.
• 2 years of cumulative experience preferred.
• Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Drivers License credentialed from the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support treatment, care and evaluation of patients on scene and during transport.
• Arrive to the scene of an emergency, determine the situation, and develop a plan of action.
• Use appropriate medical equipment and comprehend the severity of the injury.
• Monitor patient condition and perform data collection.
• Communicate findings and patient condition to primary Registered Nurse (RN).
• Assist with the mobilization, ambulation and transport of patients.
