About The Position

The Southeastern Technical Institute is seeking part-time, as-needed instructional staff for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Education program. This role involves providing instruction for all aspects of EMS Education, including lab setup, preparation, safety, and cleanup, as well as preparing and delivering lecture material, and providing practical and clinical instruction and supervision.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current Georgia Licensed Paramedic (NREMT preferred)
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and techniques of educational and training methods.
  • Considerable knowledge of advanced emergency medical treatment and life support techniques.
  • Considerable knowledge of department rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to emergency medical service
  • Considerable knowledge of the State Office of EMS Student Minimum Competency Requirements
  • Considerable knowledge of the CoAEMSP Student Minimum Competency Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Lab Assistant minimum qualifications – Georgia Paramedic License
  • Instructor minimum qualifications – EMS Instructor/Coordinator at the appropriate level (EMT/AEMT/Paramedic)
  • Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of EMS practitioner experience
  • Prior EMS Education/Teaching experience
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Instructor
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor
  • EMS Instructor/Coordinator (Paramedic)
