About The Position

Glacial Ridge Ambulance is seeking on-call Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) to respond from Brooten or Starbuck. This role involves assisting EMTs during emergencies, driving the ambulance, and participating in paid training. There are opportunities for growth, including a fully paid EMR-to-EMT pathway for those interested in advancing their careers. The position offers flexible scheduling and the chance to serve the community.

Requirements

• Current licensed Emergency Medical Responders (formerly called First Responders); or willing to obtain EMR license
• Valid MN Driver’s License and good driving record
• Live or work in the immediate area of Brooten
• Able to respond to the Ambulance Garage in Brooten within 3-5 minutes
• Must be friendly, courteous, responsible, and well-groomed
• Must be physically and mentally able to safely perform the responsibilities and duties of the position
• Must be in good physical health with no medical disabilities that would impair your ability to perform the duties required of the position
• Must be able to lift 100 pounds or more with assistance
• Ability to read and communicate effectively
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Basic computer knowledge
• Decision-making and problem-solving
• Team building

Responsibilities

• Assist EMTs during emergencies
• Drive the ambulance
• Participate in paid training
• Respond to the Ambulance Garage in Brooten within 3-5 minutes (or arrange alternative response)
• Perform the work that needs to be completed, with or without supervisor’s presence
• Act with the health, welfare, and comfort of the patient being transported in mind
• Adhere to HIPAA confidentiality standards
• Adhere to the Keys to Heartfelt Care
• Perform the physical requirements of the position
