About The Position

Sinai Residences is seeking a service-driven, professional Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) who is responsible for servicing the Community. This role involves rendering emergency medical care based on assessment findings, which may include opening and maintaining an airway, ventilating patients, administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation, administering oxygen, and providing emergency medical care for simple and multiple system trauma. The EMR will also address general medical complaints, altered mental status, seizures, environmental emergencies, behavioral emergencies, and psychological crises. Prior to rendering patient care, the EMR must identify the mechanism of injury or nature of illness, the total number of patients, and request additional help if necessary. The EMR must determine when additional support is needed and act accordingly, conduct post-call activities, function within the scope of care as defined by state, regional, and local regulatory agencies, and comply with regulations on the handling of the deceased, protection of property, and evidence at the scene while awaiting additional EMS resources.

Requirements

  • Driver's License
  • Must hold an active EMT/EMR or Paramedic certification
  • Ability to function in uncommon situations while remaining calm
  • Able to apply basic knowledge of stress response and methods to ensure personal well-being
  • Ability to apply principles of body substance isolation
  • Ability to apply basic medical-legal principles as they pertain to the EMR role
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work well with many people and adapt to diverse situations
  • Ability to maintain a professional work environment
  • Minimum of 6 months experience

Responsibilities

  • Render emergency medical care based on assessment findings.
  • Open and maintain an airway.
  • Ventilate patients.
  • Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Administer oxygen.
  • Provide emergency medical care of simple and multiple system trauma such as controlling hemorrhage, bandaging wounds, and manually stabilizing injured extremities.
  • Address general medical complaints, altered mental status, seizures, environmental emergencies, behavioral emergencies, and psychological crises.
  • Identify the mechanism of injury or nature of illness, the total number of patients, and request additional help, if necessary.
  • Determine when additional support is needed and act accordingly.
  • Conduct post-call activities.
  • Function within the scope of care as defined by state, regional and local regulatory agencies.
  • Comply with regulations on the handling of the deceased, protection of property and evidence at the scene, while awaiting additional EMS resources.

  • $750 Sign-On Bonus for all newly hired EMRs (50% paid after 90 days of employment, remaining 50% paid after 120 days of employment)
  • WEEKEND Differential for all EMRs (FT, PT, PRN) - $3.00 per hour for weekend overnight shift 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
