The Emergency Management Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive emergency management, homeland security, preparedness, mitigation, response, recovery, and continuity of operations programs for the City of Brownsville. The position serves as the City's WebEOC Administrator, ensuring the operational readiness, administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the City's emergency management information system. The position directly supervises the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator and provides leadership in emergency planning, Emergency Operations Center (EOC) readiness, emergency exercises, grant administration, regulatory compliance, and multi-agency coordination to strengthen the City's disaster preparedness and resilience. During emergency incidents and disasters, the position serves in a key operational role supporting EOC activations, incident management, and recovery operations.
