Hamilton County, OH Emergency Management & Homeland Security Agency (EMHSA) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Emergency Management Intern. This position is designed for current students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on practical experience in county-level emergency management and develop foundational skills that will jumpstart a career in the field of emergency management, homeland security and/or public safety. Hamilton County EMHSA is a progressive agency that focuses on all-hazards emergency management for a diverse county with urban, suburban, and rural populations. We are committed to investing in the next generation of public safety professionals. This internship includes opportunities for meaningful professional development, which may include attending local or state training courses, participating in planning meetings, and gaining exposure to industry professionals and networks. As part of Hamilton County EMHSA, the intern will work directly alongside experienced emergency managers to support the development and maintenance of critical county-level emergency plans, assist with the coordination and execution of exercises, and support the development of public information and outreach products. Instead of just watching from the sidelines, you will actively contribute to real-world emergency management efforts, hone your written and verbal communication skills, and learn how to apply local, state and federal guidance to community resilience.
