About The Position

Provides basic nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Requires the knowledge, technique, and communication skills to therapeutically meet the needs of assigned Med-Serg Patients. Responsible for performing a variety of assigned tasks. Must be able to identify each patient’s age-specific needs and provide appropriate care.

Requirements

• A high school graduate or equivalent
• Must be BLS certified required (or obtain within one month of hire).
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with legible penmanship and computer knowledge.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year Medical-Surgical Nurse Aid experience preferred.
• Successful completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant Program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Performs a variety of assigned tasks.
• Identifies each patient’s age-specific needs and provides appropriate care.
• Communicates with RN/GN staff to report changes in patients conditions.
• Provides direct patient care to the Med-Surg patient.
