About The Position

The Emergency Department Technician participates in the clinical aspects of patient care with all members of the health care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The technician must possess the knowledge and ability to provide care to the age-specific population assigned.

Requirements

• Current Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/Intermediate Level certification; previous Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/Intermediate Level certification is also listed as acceptable.
• Alternatively, be a student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and have completed at least one semester of clinical rotations within an acute care hospital.
• Alternatively, have two years of patient care technician and/or Emergency Room Technician experience in lieu of an EMT license.
• Current BCLS (Basic Life Support) CPR card required upon hire.
