Requirements
- Experience in an Emergency Room setting is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to assess and manage patient care independently.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with medical staff and patient education.
- Nurse Practitioners (NP): Completion of a master’s, post‑master’s, or doctoral NP program accredited by CCNE or ACEN.
- Current national certification (such as ANCC, or equivalent).
- Physician Assistants (PA): Graduation from an ARC‑PA–accredited PA program (or qualifying predecessor program).
- Current NCCPA certification.
- All candidates must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in New York State.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in an Emergency Room setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients, working closely with the Emergency Department Physician team.
- Respond promptly to calls from the nursing staff, effectively managing changes in patient conditions.
- Order and interpret tests and images, and prescribe medications as needed.
- Prepare patient discharges, including writing prescriptions, discharge summaries, arranging follow-up appointments, and educating patients and their families.
- Maintain a high standard of patient care, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the Emergency Department.
