About The Position
The Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) plays a vital role in supporting patient care within the emergency department or urgent care setting. Working under the supervision of nurses and physicians, you will assist with essential clinical and operational tasks to ensure efficient, high-quality care. This position is Full Time (72 hours per pay period), 12 hour Varied shift, work schedule that includes weekends and holidays. Position is located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.
Requirements
- Certified EMT (EMT, AEMT or Paramedic) or CNA
- BLS Healthcare Provider Certifications through American Heart Association
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in a healthcare acute care setting
Responsibilities
- Assist nurses and physicians with patient care activities and procedures
- Obtain and document vital signs
- Perform patient care tasks, including thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, and simple dressings and splints
- Collect stool and urine specimens
- Transport patients as needed
- Provide coverage for unit secretary duties when needed
