About The Position

You’ll join a community-based Emergency Department that delivers high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population. Our ED is fast‑paced yet collaborative, fostering a close-knit team environment where adaptability, communication, and mutual respect are essential. Care is delivered through a geographic, team‑based model, with Emergency Department Technicians working as integral members of small care teams. ED Technicians collaborate closely with nurses, attending physicians, and other clinical staff to support patient care activities, assist with procedures, and help ensure efficient workflow and continuity of care throughout the department. This role is ideal for Emergency Department Technicians who enjoy active, hands‑on work, thrive in a collaborative team environment, and want to make a meaningful impact in a community hospital environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Basic Life Support certification with American Heart Association
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • EMT, Paramedic, Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant training
  • Nursing student with completion of one clinical rotation or other direct patient care experience
  • 1-3 years related work experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes and completes responsibilities delegated by nurses and physicians.
  • Maintains a calm and professional demeanor while working in a fast pace, highly demanding environment.
  • Performs a variety of duties including EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care, splinting, crutch walking, and patient activities of daily living.
  • Assists providers in the delivery of care and assists patients who have physical and psychological limitations, transport patients and specimens.
  • Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection and point of service lab testing according to protocol and quality control standards.
  • Communicates results to the appropriate staff and documents in the medical record.
  • Maintains supply inventory needed to maintain daily operations.
  • Stocks supplies, linen or office goods.
  • Ensures used equipment is cleaned by appropriate process and is ready for the next patient.
