About The Position
Sentara Independence is currently hiring an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to join the team! This role is full-time (36 hours) working Weekend Days (Friday-Sunday) from 7 AM to 7 PM. The ED Tech assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients. They perform patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse. In this role, you are an integral part of the Emergency Department Team, performing tasks such as starting IVs, EKGs, Point of Care testing, drawing Blood Cultures, taking Vital Signs, arrival prioritization, and stocking.
Requirements
- Clinical - <1 year
- EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR Current students enrolled in a clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy).
- Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.
