About The Position

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a part-time Emergency Department Technician/EMT to join their highly committed and dynamic Emergency Services team. This role involves providing excellent quality care to over 68,000 patients of all ages annually in a safe environment that promotes long-term recovery. Emergency Department Technicians are expected to perform with a high degree of clinical and professional aptitude, delivering patient care as part of a professional multidisciplinary team that includes Providers, RNs, Paramedics, other Emergency Department Technicians, Respiratory Therapists, Health Unit Coordinators, and Social Workers. The Emergency Services department is a Level II ACS-verified Trauma Center, characterized as a high-energy, patient-centered environment. It features 45 total patient exam rooms, including ten Urgent Care rooms, five resuscitation/trauma/critical care rooms, and three dedicated Behavioral Health rooms, serving all patient populations from infancy to the elderly. Patients have 24-hour access to laboratory, X-ray, and surgical services. The department is also recognized as a Stroke Center with 24/7 neuro-interventional capabilities and a Chest Pain Center with 24/7 interventional cardiac catheterization lab capabilities. Emergency Services is a 2023 Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award recipient, acknowledged for excellence in metrics and patient experience. Emplify Health by Gundersen is a physician-led, not-for-profit healthcare system that includes a teaching hospital, community clinics, affiliate hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, behavioral health services, vision centers, pharmacies, and air and ground ambulance services. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • National Registry Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (NREMT) or Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B)
  • Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in an emergency or pre-hospital setting is strongly preferred
