About The Position
The Emergency Department Technician is responsible for rendering direct and indirect patient care under the direction of appropriate licensed personnel. This role facilitates care to meet the patient’s daily living activity needs by providing clerical, physical, and emotional support while assisting licensed personnel in the management of critically ill patients. The technician also assists with the workflow of unlicensed assistive personnel in the department.
Requirements
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
- California Emergency Medical Technician certification or CA Emergency Medical Technician–Paramedic certification, or National EMT certification.
Nice To Haves
- High school grad or equivalent.
- Ability to use computer charting (electronic medical record) and computer order entry.
- Patient Care Tech or equivalent experience in an acute care, emergency or pre-hospital setting.
