About The Position

The Emergency Department (ED) at Baptist Health La Grange provides quality care for patients of all ages and conditions ranging from acute musculoskeletal injuries, to stoke, or resuscitating cardiac arrests. The pace and patient acuity of the department varies on any given day or hour, with an average of 40 visits daily. The department is proud of playing a large role in being a certified chest pain center, primary stroke center, and Pathway recognized. Registered nurses implement the nursing process for each patient regardless of age (i.e. infancy to geriatric) assigned to his/her care and is responsible for the patient’s care within the parameters of the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act. The registered nurse promotes positive patient outcomes, quality of care and initiates change through active involvement in unit-based and hospital shared- governance councils. National Professional Nursing Standards serve as guidelines for the registered nurse as he/she utilizes critical thinking skills and exercises appropriate nursing judgment. The registered nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes. Staff RNs at the La Grange Hospital Emergency Room enjoy no to minimal weekend requirements. This unit has great nurse to patient ratios.

Requirements

  • Active Kentucky License
  • BCLS Required
  • ACLS Required
  • PALS Required
  • NIHSS Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Emergency Department experience is preferred but new graduate nurses are welcome.
