Emergency Department RN Weekend Only
About The Position
The Emergency Department has been newly expanded and features thirty-two beds divided into four pods of eight beds each, with each pod staffed by one provider, two RNs, and one tech. Additionally, there are nine beds in the Clinical Decision Unit. This fast-paced ED treats an average of more than 150 patients per day, handling a variety of cases including acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, and psychiatric patients. The department is recognized by the American Heart Association as both a STEMI receiving center and a designated Primary Stroke Center. Patients treated range from neonates to geriatrics. An extensive orientation program prepares emergency nurses to work autonomously with a wide range of clinical specialties in treating emergent patients and their families. The ED fosters high levels of teamwork and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary group of professionals. New graduates with appropriate training and background are welcomed.
