Emergency Department Registered Nurse - Western Market Resource Pool(SMJH, SRMH, SNVMC)
About The Position
This is a self-scheduling full-time night shift position for an Emergency Department Registered Nurse within the Western Market Regional Resource Pool, serving Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital (SMJH), Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital (SRMH), and Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center (SNVMC). The role requires flexibility, with team members needing to schedule at least 144 hours per calendar month (36 hours/week). The position offers premium differential pay and flexible self-scheduling, with availability required only two weeks in advance. The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional performance standards encompass ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards for specific clinical areas.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse Diploma (Required)
- Registered Nurse License (Required)
- Minimum of 18 months of acute care RN experience.
- Minimum of 18 months (most recent experience) as RN in acute care setting.
- Available to work 36 hours per week Full-time status, a minimum of 144 hours per month.
- Must reside within 75 miles and 90 minutes of two hospitals in the Northern Virginia or Blue Ridge region: Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA; Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA; and Sentara Martha Jefferson in Charlottesville, VA.

Responsibilities
- Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation).
- Adhere to standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health).
- Utilize clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
- Work in all units for which they are qualified and a minimum of two different units.
- Schedule at least 144 hours per calendar month (36 hours/week).
- Schedule 48 hours on a weekend shift and 48 hours on an off shift (any shifts that start after 3pm).
- Provide availability to work no more than two weeks in advance.
