About The Position

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides professional care and assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of Emergency Department patients. The nurse provides direct and indirect care through continued use of the nursing process in collaboration with other health team members, demonstrating initiative, flexibility, and responsibility with minimal supervision.

The nurse triages patients entering the emergency care system safely, rapidly, and accurately; determines care priorities based on physical and psychosocial needs and factors affecting patient flow; communicates changes in patient status, symptoms, and diagnostic results to the Emergency Department physician; and responds quickly and accurately to changes in a patient’s condition or response to treatment.

Requirements

• Hold a valid, active RN license in good standing in the state of Arkansas.
• Have BLS upon hire.
• Obtain ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS within 90 days.
• Obtain TNCC within one year.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect care to Emergency Department patients using the nursing process in collaboration with other health team members.
