Emergency Department Patient Care Technician II
About The Position
Jefferson Health is seeking an Emergency Department Patient Care Tech II to join their mission of Improving Lives. This role is located at Thomas Jefferson University Campus. Jefferson Einstein Hospital is Magnet Recognized, and Jefferson is recognized as the 2nd Best Hospital in the Philadelphia Metro area and the 3rd Best Hospital in Pennsylvania. The Patient Care Tech II will provide direct bedside care to patients, perform assigned nursing procedures, maintain documentation, and assist physicians with examinations and tests. Other tasks include respiratory and rehabilitation services.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- One of the following is required: PCT or related certification, Certified nursing assistant (CNA), EMT
- Minimum of 2 years nursing assistant, PCT or healthcare experience required.
- AHA BLS required
Nice To Haves
- Certification and completion of advanced skills and knowledge training within six months of hire accepted in lieu of experience requirement
Responsibilities
- Performs assigned nursing procedures for the comfort and well-being of the patient
- Maintains appropriate documentation on all assigned patients, including flow sheets
- Maintains advanced knowledge and experience with phlebotomy and lab specimen collection including T&S, Blood Cultures
- Assists physicians with examinations and tests as needed
- Other tasks include respiratory services, and rehabilitation services
