About The Position

Harrison County Hospital is seeking dedicated Emergency Department nurses committed to excellence and outstanding patient care. This role requires the qualifications and experience to care for patients of all ages. The position is PRN (as needed). Under the direction of the department of nursing service, the staff nurse, as a registered nurse, bears primary responsibility and accountability for the nursing care patients receive. The staff nurse's practice aligns with the nursing profession's standards of practice, nurse's code of ethics, and the Indiana nurse practice act. This practice includes the nursing process: assessment of patient status, planning of nursing actions, implementation of the plan, and evaluation of the plan. The staff nurse's patient population will include patients from infancy to geriatric who present with either medical or post-surgical problems. Harrison County Hospital has continuously served the people of Harrison County since 1950. Today our acute care community hospital serves the healthcare needs of a much broader and growing population in Harrison and Crawford counties, Indiana and Meade County, Kentucky. Requirements

• Graduate from accredited nursing school.
• RN License in the state of Indiana.
• PALS/ACLS trained.
• Venipuncture Skills.
• Ability to accurately monitor cardiac rhythms.
• Obtains 85% or higher on telemetry test.
• Completion of hospital approved critical care course and/or comparable experience in critical care nursing and/or emergency room.

Responsibilities
