About The Position

Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is seeking experienced Veterinary Assistants and Licensed Technicians to join our Emergency and Critical Care Department team. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, collaboration, and professionalism in a fast-paced specialty and emergency environment. The schedule is 3/12's, with a 4/10 schedule potentially being considered. The hospital is located in Gig Harbor, Washington, and is a specialty animal hospital with a team of highly skilled veterinarians and dedicated support staff. Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ER setting
LVTs must hold an active Washington license or immanent transfer of licensure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle fast-paced, high-stress situations with composure
Confidence in life-saving procedures such as CPR/BLS
Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills

Responsibilities

Triage and obtain patient history from owners
Perform diagnostic tests and out-patient procedures
Administer medications and treatments as directed by DVM
Provide oversight and treatment for multiple ER patients, ensuring gold-standard patient nursing and husbandry
Provide support and education to pet owners
Maintain accurate medical records
Discharge patients and answer client questions
Fill prescriptions and review with owners
Maintain cleanliness of the hospital
