About The Position

Tower Health Reading Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Emergency team. Shifts require the ability to rotate for all shifts. The Advanced Practitioner shall assist the Emergency Medicine physicians in evaluating and treating patients in the main Emergency Department and Pediatric Emergency Department. The Advanced Practitioner functions as a primary health care provider with the responsibility of managing health related problems and conditions. The APP serves as a clinical leader and works closely with the physicians in managing patients, administration of medication, ordering necessary labs or tests, prescriptions, and appropriate documentation of patient charts. Works within a specific department with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals in coordinating and delivering patient care and facilitating communication between the patient and family members, the nursing team, and the medical staff, functioning as a clinical expert in the area, program, or department assigned. Reading Hospital ED is Pennsylvania's busiest ED with more than 115,000 patients annually, including 30,000 children. The staff is very experienced with 40+ physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners as well as Emergency Medicine Residents. The Emergency Department contains more than 100 beds, a dedicated Pediatric Emergency unit with 16 beds, is a Level I Trauma Center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and has an Emergency Medicine Residency Program. There are abundant teaching, quality improvement, and research opportunities.

  • Master's Degree

Responsibilities
