Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state of practice.
  • 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software and electronic medical records.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Fine motor skills for patient handling and medical equipment use.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and work on the floor.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg independently and support up to 40 kg with assistance.
  • Willingness to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with diverse individuals.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program.
  • VTS in ECC, internal medicine, or anesthesia/analgesia.
  • Experience in emergency or specialty medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a wide range of emergency cases, from minor to complex, in collaboration with veterinarians and the team.
  • Deliver gold standard, emotionally intelligent care to patients and pet parents.
  • Perform triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
  • Provide compassionate support to pet parents during stressful times.
  • Administer nursing care, treatments, and emotional support during critical moments.
  • Manage medications, monitoring, and advanced procedures such as IVs, CRIs, and blood transfusions.
  • Communicate effectively as a team member and contribute to care planning.
  • Perform CPR and other advanced life support techniques.
  • Conduct diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and catheter placement.
  • Administer anesthesia, even for fragile patients.
  • Utilize advanced techniques including central lines, endoscopy, and ultrasounds.
