Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state of practice.
1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software and electronic medical records.
Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Fine motor skills for patient handling and medical equipment use.
Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and work on the floor.
Ability to lift up to 25 kg independently and support up to 40 kg with assistance.
Willingness to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors.
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with diverse individuals.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program.
VTS in ECC, internal medicine, or anesthesia/analgesia.
Experience in emergency or specialty medicine.

Responsibilities

Handle a wide range of emergency cases, from minor to complex, in collaboration with veterinarians and the team.
Deliver gold standard, emotionally intelligent care to patients and pet parents.
Perform triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
Provide compassionate support to pet parents during stressful times.
Administer nursing care, treatments, and emotional support during critical moments.
Manage medications, monitoring, and advanced procedures such as IVs, CRIs, and blood transfusions.
Communicate effectively as a team member and contribute to care planning.
Perform CPR and other advanced life support techniques.
Conduct diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and catheter placement.
Administer anesthesia, even for fragile patients.
Utilize advanced techniques including central lines, endoscopy, and ultrasounds.
