Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state of practice.
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software and electronic medical records.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Fine motor skills for patient handling and medical equipment use.
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, work on the floor, and lift up to 25 kg independently and support up to 40 kg with assistance.
- Willingness to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with diverse individuals.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program.
- VTS in ECC, internal medicine, or anesthesia/analgesia.
- Experience in emergency or specialty medicine.
Responsibilities
- Treat every patient and person with importance, ensuring people and pets stay together through tests and treatments.
- Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support during critical moments, from triage to discharge.
- Administer medications, perform monitoring, and execute advanced treatments such as IVs, CRIs, and blood transfusions.
- Communicate effectively as a team member and think critically to shape care plans and ensure smooth operations.
- Perform CPR and other advanced life-saving techniques.
- Conduct diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement.
- Administer anesthesia, even for fragile patients.
- Utilize advanced techniques including central lines, endoscopy, and ultrasounds.
