This role is for a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician who thrives on the front lines of emergency veterinary care, handling a wide range of cases and collaborating with a team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state where the practice is located.
1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software and electronic medical records.
Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Fine motor skills for patient handling and medical equipment use.
Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, work on the floor, lift up to 25 kg independently, and support up to 40 kg with assistance.
Willingness to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors.
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with diverse individuals.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program.
VTS in ECC, internal medicine, or anesthesia/analgesia.
Experience in emergency or specialty medicine.

Responsibilities

Treat every patient and person with importance, ensuring people and pets stay together through tests and treatments.
Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support during critical moments, from initial triage to discharge.
Administer medications, perform monitoring, and execute advanced treatments such as IVs, CRIs, and blood transfusions.
Communicate effectively as a team member and think critically to contribute to care plans and ensure smooth patient flow.
Perform CPR, utilizing training and expertise in RECOVER protocols.
Conduct diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement.
Administer anesthesia, including for fragile patients.
Utilize advanced techniques such as central lines, endoscopy, and ultrasounds.
