Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state of practice.
1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software and electronic medical records.
Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Fine motor skills for patient handling and medical equipment use.
Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and work on the floor.
Ability to lift up to 25 kg independently and support up to 40 kg with assistance.
Willingness to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors.
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with diverse individuals.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program.
Experience in emergency or specialty medicine.
VTS in ECC, internal medicine, or anesthesia/analgesia (will lead to extra compensation considerations).

Responsibilities

Handle a wide range of emergency cases, from minor to complex.
Collaborate with doctors and the team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.
Perform triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
Provide emotional support to pet parents during stressful times.
Administer nursing care, treatments, and emotional support.
Manage medications, monitoring, and advanced treatments like IVs and CRIs.
Participate in CPR efforts.
Perform diagnostic procedures, imaging, and sample collection.
Administer anesthesia, even for fragile patients.
Utilize advanced techniques such as central lines, endoscopy, and ultrasounds.
