About The Position

The City of Twin Falls is hiring Emergency Communication Officers to answer emergency and non-emergency calls, process requests, and provide lifesaving instructions as needed. This position involves working 10- or 12-hour shifts in a 24-hour environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Be a U.S. citizen
• Be at least 18 years old at the time of application
• Possess a valid state-issued driver's license
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Complete POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Certification within 18 months of hire
• Successfully complete three training phases (about 16 weeks total)
• Have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
• Marijuana use in past year is disqualifying
• Controlled substance use in past five years is disqualifying
• Felony convictions as an adult are disqualifying
• DUI in past two years or more than one in five years is disqualifying
• More than five traffic violations in past three years is disqualifying
• Complete the Criticall computer assessment
• Pass a thorough background check, psychological evaluation, polygraph, and drug/hearing test
• Visible tattoos must comply with the department's tattoo policy
