The Santa Fe Regional Emergency Communications Center (RECC) is seeking an Emergency Communication Specialist 1-Advanced to receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service. This role involves providing life-saving instructions over the phone and accurately documenting incidents and reports from citizens. The specialist works under the direct supervision of the RECC Training Coordinator, Emergency Communications Specialist Team Leader, and Center Manager, with close supervision from the Director of RECC. Key responsibilities include receiving and processing medical calls using Emergency Medical Dispatch Protocols, handling emergent and non-emergent calls, gathering information for field responders, and maintaining communication logs. This position requires flexibility to work any day of the week, including weekends and any hours of the day or night. The specialist will also maintain contact with responding personnel, track important information like traffic light outages and street closures, and keep emergency personnel and the public informed. Data input into standard office and department forms, maintaining dispatch documents and records, and assisting other specialists and supervisors are also part of the role. The position involves attending seminars, workshops, and training classes, and maintaining the cleanliness of dispatch consoles and equipment.
