This is a restricted position, which is solely funded by the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund for July 1, 2026 year and ending on June 30, 2027. The availability of funding is scheduled for review annually before the grant expiration date. The DWSRF grant has been renewed annually for over 25 years. Continued employment is contingent on the continued availability of funds. Ensures all new staff receive orientation & training in accordance with established policy and procedures for emergency management and ESF 3 staffing; Ensures all ODW staff receive training on emergency response, and that the training objectives support the ODW mission; Assures that staff training records reports are forwarded to the Division of Training and Outreach within the assigned timeframe; and Actively participates in and organizes an exercise and training programs in a timely manner for owners, engineers, officials and the general public to explain new procedures and regulations; Responds to customer and employee requests promptly; Coordinates media response with central office and VDH PIO; Establishes positive relationship with sister agencies and district health directors; Participates and leads efforts to improve ODW's quality and timeliness of responses for emergency response and preparedness; leads coordination calls with waterworks and ODW field offices.
