About The Position

Delaware Institute of Reproductive Medicine (DIRM) is part of the IVI RMA family, seeking a mid-level embryologist for their Newark DE office. For over 20 years, IVIRMA North America has been dedicated to advancing human IVF and assisted reproductive technologies in the United States, with laboratories built on rigorous U.S. clinical standards, evidence-based practice, and a commitment to successful pregnancies. As part of the global IVIRMA Global network, U.S. labs emphasize hands-on embryology expertise, continuous training, and measurable clinical outcomes. Every oocyte, embryo, and biopsy is handled with precision, integrity, and compassion. This full-time role involves direct impact on human IVF outcomes, U.S. based clinical embryology training and mentorship, a collaborative lab culture, state-of-the-art equipment, structured professional development, and the opportunity to contribute to a growing IVF program. The ideal candidate is trained in U.S. clinical IVF laboratory standards and ready to expand technical proficiency towards independent performance of core embryology procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree (Biology or related field required)
  • 3+ years of hands-on human IVF laboratory experience in the U.S.
  • Demonstrated competency in core embryology procedures
  • Strong understanding of embryo morphology and developmental assessment
  • Ability to interpret laboratory findings within clinical context
  • High attention to detail and commitment to laboratory excellence
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
  • Weekend and holiday rotation required

Responsibilities

  • Perform IVF laboratory procedures following established SOPs and quality standards
  • Maintain strict adherence to QA/QC protocols and documentation requirements
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and laboratory safety standards
  • Participate in proficiency testing and competency assessments
  • Identify and troubleshoot laboratory issues that may impact clinical outcomes
  • Contribute to ongoing laboratory optimization and research initiatives
  • Attend laboratory meetings and continuing education programs
  • Maintain accurate electronic documentation and data entry
  • Oocyte identification and grading
  • Sperm preparation and assessment
  • Conventional insemination and ICSI
  • Embryo culture and assessment (Day 3 & blastocyst grading)
  • Embryo biopsy (as trained)
  • Vitrification and warming of oocytes and embryos
  • Specimen handling and cryostorage management
