We have an immediate opening for a Embryologist III Float to join our team at Shady Grove Fertility in Webster and Clear Lake, Texas. Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM with weekend and holiday rotations. This role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day.

Requirements

  • Ph.D., MS or BS in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science required
  • Minimum 3 years or more of specific embryology clinical laboratory experience required
  • Must have the ability to perform concentrated and complex mental activity, with frequent involvement in complex and highly technical situations
  • Must have the ability to make sound and independent judgments based on laboratory protocols, and be able to collaborate with other multidisciplinary team members in an appropriate fashion
  • Must have the aptitude to learn to make appropriate judgments about the clinical significance of laboratory data
  • Must have the skills to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
  • Must be able to communicate accurately and concisely
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and culture oocytes; prepare sperm and inseminate oocytes
  • Assess and select embryos for transfer; perform embryo vitrification, storage, and warming
  • Perform oocyte vitrification, storage, and warming
  • Prepare all media used with human gametes
  • Conduct diagnostic semen analysis
  • Prepare and care for gametes/embryos throughout the laboratory process, including IVF, ICSI, VIT, ET, thaw, and PGD
  • Cryopreserve and thaw embryos at varying stages of development
  • Assess fertilization and zygote quality following insemination
  • Record and report results in Artworks
  • Perform TBSA, PESA, TESA, and TESE collections
  • Denude oocytes and perform ICSI insemination
  • Conduct PGD biopsy
  • Manage embryo discharge and storage
  • Track donor sperm and embryos in compliance with FDA regulations
