About The Position

ABS Global, a Genus PLC Company, has an exciting opportunity for an Embryo Transfer Specialist. We are seeking a motivated and team-oriented individual to support our growing embryo transfer operations throughout Washington and Oregon. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful transfer of fresh and cryopreserved IVF embryos into bovine recipients while helping achieve reproductive performance goals, including conception rates and live calf outcomes. The Embryo Transfer Specialist will collaborate closely with fellow team members and customer operations to ensure the successful delivery of reproductive services while maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field preferred, but exceptional experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Bovine reproductive experience (artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis, etc.) preferred.
  • Previous experience with embryo transfer is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform embryo transfer procedures using both fresh and cryopreserved IVF embryos in cow and heifer recipients.
  • Conduct reproductive evaluations through rectal palpation and/or ultrasound to determine recipient viability prior to transfer.
  • Maintain embryo transfer equipment, including embryo transfer guns, portable incubators, thaw baths, and other related equipment.
  • Accurately record embryo transfer activities, recipient information, and reproductive performance data.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve current and forecasted reproductive goals and customer service expectations.
  • Monitor transfer schedules and anticipated ET volumes to ensure successful delivery of services and customer support.
  • Follow all safety and biosecurity protocols related to livestock handling, liquid nitrogen, sharps, and reproductive procedures.
  • Uphold company and customer standards for animal well-being and biosecurity.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers and colleagues to promote a positive service experience.
  • Support training initiatives for new team members as needed, including standard operating procedures, animal welfare practices, and performance expectations.
  • Travel as needed to support reproductive service operations within the region and other U.S. locations.
  • Uphold the Genus core values, mission, and vision.
  • Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
