Embrex Operator LeadPerson
About The Position
This role involves leading and supporting daily Embrex (in-ovo vaccination) operations. The operator will be responsible for performing start-up and shut-down procedures for Embrex equipment, accurately mixing vaccines, monitoring machine performance, and addressing basic troubleshooting needs. A key aspect of the role is ensuring proper sanitation and cleanliness of the work area and equipment. The lead will also conduct daily team huddles to communicate goals, expectations, and safety reminders, assign tasks, and ensure team coverage throughout the shift. Additionally, the position requires supporting and enforcing company policies, maintaining production and vaccination accuracy records using basic computer systems, and assisting in other duties as assigned by management to support hatchery production flow.
Requirements
- Basic computer skills (data entry, system navigation)
- General math and writing skills
- Ability to reach, lift, and work in a physically active environment
- Bending and twisting motions
- Repetitive reaching and lifting of a maximum of 40 lbs.
- Constant standing and walking
- Ability to push or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures
- Ability to work independently and manage a team
Responsibilities
- Lead and support daily Embrex (in-ovo vaccination) operations
- Perform start-up and shut-down procedures for all Embrex equipment
- Accurately mix vaccines according to company and manufacturer guidelines
- Monitor machine performance and address basic troubleshooting needs
- Ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of work area and equipment
- Conduct daily team huddles to communicate goals, expectations, and safety reminders
- Assign tasks and ensure team coverage throughout the shift
- Support and enforce company policies, including My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) and other safety initiatives
- Maintain production and vaccination accuracy records using basic computer systems
- Support hatchery production flow and assist in other duties as assigned by management
