Embedded Software Engineer

QualcommSan Diego, CA
$103,600 - $155,400

About The Position

Qualcomm Research (QR) is at the forefront of enabling the next generation (6G) of wireless technology. This involves developing research-grade prototypes and early-stage platforms for advancements in RF, baseband, communication protocols, and algorithms. The division also focuses on User Experience (UX) technologies for XR, AI-powered communications, agentic AI, and robotics; multi-modal sensing using RF, vision, and maps; and system architectures to meet and drive industry standards. The prototypes and platforms are end-to-end systems designed for technology characterization, demonstration, performance improvement, leveraging open-source libraries, and pre-commercial trials with industry partners. This role requires advanced software development across various domains, layers, and platforms. The team is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and integrate embedded software for advanced algorithms and standardized/standards-proposed protocols, primarily on general-purpose compute servers situated above RF and baseband. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating features to meet the division's objectives within a fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment. Successful candidates will be creative, enthusiastic innovators skilled in researching new technologies and implementing software and tools for cutting-edge research and products.
