About The Position

The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for design and development of our various hardware initiatives in communications, consumer products, as well as EV charging products. Be involved in design and development of a portfolio of niche consumer hardware products for the grid edge needed to support the energy transition and support of consumer solar and batteries, EVs, home automation, consumer energy management, etc. Collaborate with the development team to understand use cases and create products that meet customer needs. Research and apply new technologies in operating systems, business applications, and GUIs on embedded hardware products. Configure, build, and deploy embedded Linux OS with drivers on customized hardware platforms. Develop communication interfaces such as DNP, MQTT, OPC UA, and others. Create test applications and test plans to ensure the quality and reliability of the code. Learn new technologies and skills and immediately apply them to solve problems. Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up prototypes and troubleshoot issues. Support customer interactions including technical discussions, technical demonstrations, etc. Develop presentation and/or data sheet collateral if needed. Other technical and engineering duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science degree with experience in embedded software design and development.

  • Programming languages required include C, C++, and Java.
