Embedded Software Engineer
About The Position
Embedded Software Engineer for Intelligent Solutions Group Urbandale located in Urbandale, IA. This role involves being a member of an embedded development team focused on building functionality for John Deere Precision Tech related to mapping and recording work information. The engineer will collaborate with a product team and other software teams within the John Deere Tech Stack to design, build, and test software for a broad spectrum of Deere equipment. A key aspect of the role is learning how customers use Precision Tech and applying those lessons to future designs and features. Additionally, the position will provide product support and defect triage for these systems.
Requirements
- 1+ years of practical experience or academic project experience in embedded software development using C++, Python, Java or other Object-Oriented languages.
- 1+ years of experience in design, development and testing software applications.
- Exposure to network protocols and tools.
- Understanding of real-time operating system and multi process/thread concepts.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a distributed team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of IoT or similar messaging protocols.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks.
- Exposure to different database technologies.
Responsibilities
