Engineers at our Austin TX location support the following Business Area’s Controls & Avionics Solutions (CAS): In Controls & Avionics Solutions, you will have the opportunity to help define and develop the next generation of avionics – whether it is fly-by-wire flight controls, full authority digital engine controls, or power management. http://www.baesystems-ps.com/interactive/cas.htm In this Embedded Software Engineer opportunity, you will be part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment supporting a dynamic cross-functional team that supports safety critical systems and make impacts in the following ways; Design, develop, and validate software for safety-critical avionics systems, adhering to DO-178C and other industry standards. Ensure compliance with system specifications and rigorous safety and reliability requirements throughout the software development lifecycle. Collaborate with Systems and Hardware Engineers to translate business needs and customer requirements into technical solutions, including performing SW/HW integration testing, verification, and debug. Implement best practices for software development, including version control, coding standards, automated testing, and integration. May also be involved in reverse engineering existing code bases to address problem reports, implement enhancements and improve overall structure for maintainability.
