About The Position

Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the Laser & Sensor Systems (L&SS) team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, analysis, testing, and requirements verification of High Energy Laser (HEL) systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop and validate software solutions that support advanced laser and sensor technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Computer Engineering or a related discipline, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
  • Demonstrated experience writing C/C++ code
  • Embedded real-time software development
  • Experience with operation and use of standard lab equipment for test, trouble shooting, and repair
  • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, must be a U.S. Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Agile Development (Scrum Master or Product Owner or Release Train Engineer experience)
  • Experience with debugging hardware and is familiar with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and Wireshark or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in board bring up activities working closely with electrical engineers
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting small and large scale systems across software, firmware, and hardware
  • Experience using various communication protocols including: SPI, I2C, RS-422, RS-485, CANbus, TCP/UDP
  • Experience and ability working with cross functional/multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD Pipelines
  • Software firmware interface development experience using across various chip suppliers
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
  • Experience integrating software in an embedded hardware environment

  • Designing and developing embedded software solutions for HEL systems.

  • Contributing to software lifecycle processes and engineering best practices.
  • Assisting with integration and troubleshooting of hardware and software components.
